To prevent fuel pump failure, always replace the fuel filter and clean the tank to reduce debris and contamination when replacing your pump. Addditionally, avoid extended periods of low fuel levels to help maintain the durability of the pump.

If the vehicle experiences a hard start, no start, or an extended crank time; stalls or stalls intermittently; or exhibits a rough idle, poor acceleration, or vehicle stumble – it may be time to replace the fuel pump.

Yes! Bosch brings its fuel system expertise to the aftermarket with a premium fuel pump program for domestic, Asian and European vehicles.

Some of the top causes for fuel pump failure are contamination (which is caused by dirt and debris entering the system from re-fueling), overheating, and fuel pump wear over time. Frequently driving on a low fuel tank can accelerate wear on the fuel pump. An interesting note – over half of all fuel pump replacements are the result of mis-diagnosis. With the new complexity of modern vehicles, several things can disable the vehicle's fuel pump (e.g., security systems, oil/fuel pressure switches, etc.), which can result in a mis-diagnosis.

Many of Bosch aftermarket modules and pumps are made on the same production lines that service our Original Equipment Manufacturer – or OEM – customers.

Bosch Fuel Pumps are validated to E20, so you are assured a reliable performance to a standard that has been exceeding the new E15 allowance. Should the EPA expand the limitations again, the fuel pumps will already be validated.
